Meet the Author
A third generation Florida native, DH Cermeño is the best selling award winning author of Coffee & Cedar: Finding Strength From Memories. In his spare time, he loves to entertain family and friends at home, enjoy a cigar over good conversation, volunteer in the community, and support local theatre. DH has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and Central America and especially loves visiting his extended family in the northern part of Spain. He currently resides in Winter Park, FL.

2011
My Uncle Silvio (the last of the three "Atuns") passes away
2012
Woke up at 3AM with a story idea. Drafted it over several months. A friend said it was "SOMETHING" - not quite a novel, not quite a short story
2013
Decided to create it as a "Children's Style" Book and began searching for an illustrator
2014
Met Mike Woodcock who began developing concepts. Started collaboration on illustrations and layout (2014-2017)
2018
Book published. Won Gold Medal from The Florida Publisher's Association that summer
2019
Received additional accolades
2020
During COVID, began writing the one-act play adaptation
2021
Audio Book released (thanks to Julian Decker). Coffee & Cedar opened at Orlando Fringe with a SOLD OUT run - sold out before festival even started (unprecedented). Named "the feel good show" and received "Patron's Pick" for its venue. Spanish version released months later
2022-2023
Coffee & Cedar performed multiple times to sold-out houses
2025
Coffee & Cedar receives the Golden Wizard Book Prize
